Daniel Crockford
Biography
Daniel qualified as a solicitor in 2005. He joined Keoghs in 2017 as a partner. Daniel is an experienced marine insurance litigator who has a broad shipping practice with a particular expertise and a strong reputation in the yacht and superyacht industry in which he has established a loyal client following. He has acted for underwriters, brokers, P&I Clubs and owners in collision and salvage claims (including claims arising from both professional and amateur racing incidents), theft and fraudulent claims, and defending marine professionals (such as surveyors, engineers and naval architects) and marinas.
Daniel acts in cargo/freight claims for underwriters covering all aspects of carriage of goods by sea, air and road, and warehousing. Daniel also has extensive experience in property insurance disputes and complex property damage claims.
Chambers and Partners Legal Guide recognise Daniel as being “well known for his marine insurance work on behalf of yacht and superyacht industry clients. Market sources describe him as “highly flexible, commercially minded and charming,” adding: “Clients instantly warm to him and then stick with him. He fights hard but gives realistic advice.”
