Neena is a Partner in Keoghs crime and regulatory team. Being one of the founding members of team, Neena enjoys an excellent reputation as being a leading practitioner in defending complex Motor prosecutions and Health and Safety offences. Neena leads the national Criminal Motor Defence team at Keoghs.
Neena is known for representing corporate and individual clients in relation to investigations conducted by the Police, HSE, Local Councils, Trading Standards and the CPS. She also acts for clients who have been subject to allegations of Corporate Manslaughter or individual gross negligence manslaughter.
Neena represents clients at PACE interviews in relation to all manner of road traffic offences, ranging from minor road traffic offences to causing death by dangerous driving, allegations of manslaughter, GBH/ABH as well as allegations involving breach of Firearms Legislation involving corporate clients. She also represents clients at Safeguarding meetings where there allegations of abuse within the Care Sector. Neena is quick in understanding developing issues. Significant reported cases include R-v- Diggles -acquittal based on a sudden unintended acceleration; R-v- BL – causing death by dangerous driving discontinued and consideration of Smart Motorways; R –v- Mawson Contractors – gross negligence manslaughter discontinued).
Neena is recognised for her tenacious approach with regulators whilst being empathetic to lay clients. Neena is regularly invited by insurers and large organisations to provide training in relation to PACE interviews and investigations by the HSE / CQC.
