Keoghs’ fraud team finished the year celebrating another award last night after they scooped ‘Outstanding Case of the Year’ at the Personal Injury Awards.
Fraud Partner Damian Ward accepted the prize for the high profile private prosecution case, the largest of its type, which resulted in an unprecedented judgment in August as 21 fraudsters were sentenced to over 29 years.
The case gained coverage across the national press and as far as Bavaria, with the media’s imagination caught by the outrageous circumstances surrounding the attempted fraud, along with the importance of the result.
The convicted fraudsters had boarded a bus en masse and proceeded to fling themselves around, holding their necks, as a stooge in a Nissan Micra drove into the bus from behind, barely registering an impact.

The win capped a year of major awards success for the fraud team, with Keoghs’ LNC initiative winning at the British Insurance Awards and also collecting an Insurance Fraud Award.
