Keoghs wins major legal services contract with the Ministry of Defence

17/09/2019

Keoghs has been appointed as the MOD’s legal services supplier for certain categories of litigated claims under a four year agreement worth an estimated £6m.

Effective since May 2019, the appointment sees Keoghs working closely with the MOD to manage litigated compensation claims in England and Wales in relation to injury and disease claims (excluding NFCI and RTA) brought against the MOD by service personnel and civilian employees.

John Whittle, Chief Executive Officer of Keoghs says:

“We are incredibly pleased that we have been selected as the MOD’s legal partner for their litigated compensation claims. The combination of our leading casualty capability along with our knowledge of the defence sector and specifically the MOD means we are best placed to provide the specialist legal support needed by the MOD and their people."

This appointment supports the procurement process managed by the Crown Commercial Service to contract for legal services under Lot 1 (litigation) of the CCS Wider Public Sector Framework, of which Keoghs was successfully appointed in June 2018. CCS supports the public sector to achieve maximum commercial value when procuring common goods and services. In 2017/18, CCS delivered £354 million in commercial benefits including savings for central government, and £247 million for the wider public sector - helping to deliver world class public services that offer best value for taxpayers.
