Paul joined Keoghs as a partner in the Property Risks & Coverage team in October 2020. His work has focused for the last 12 years on advising upon property, risk and coverage cases. Paul practices across four property-related specialisms: coverage; defended liability; subrogated recovery and first party fraud.
He is skilled in handling high value, complex and multi-party insurance related disputes with a construction focus. Paul has dealt with numerous adjudications and arbitrations along with regularly litigating claims in the Technology & Construction Court including Stoke-on-Trent College v Pelican Rouge Coffee Solutions Group Ltd  EWHC 2829 (TCC). Stoke is one of the few reported cases of a successful commercial claim being brought under section 41 of the Consumer Protection Act 1987 for breaches of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1994.
Paul is also experienced in advising upon policy indemnity disputes including interpreting insurance policies, advising on cover and has advised insurers in relation to the recent Grenfell Tower disaster. He also regularly defends insurers against claims brought by policyholders and advises upon complaints referred to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
In recent years, Paul has focused on devising a variety of bespoke subrogated recovery schemes for insurer clients and is well versed in delivering succinct and intelligible management information solutions.
Paul balances strong technical skills with a practical commercial outlook. He is a nominated individual to handle major loss property claims for several major insurers.
