Our credit hire team, headed by partner Mel Mooney, Technical Director of Credit Hire, and John Gibson, Business Unit Director, were named Legal Partner of the Year at the 2014 Insurance Times Claims Excellence Awards at Senate House, London, on Thursday 8 May.
The annual Claims Excellence Awards celebrate how firms, teams and individuals from across the legal services, claims management and associated industries’ landscape constantly find new ways of raising standards, growing business and improving access to justice.
With two ground breaking victories in the Court of Appeal last year, Keoghs were especially commended for delivering market-leading and industry wide benefits which will continue to influence the sector for years to come. A bespoke pre-proceedings case management system, set up in 2012, was also singled out for praise, as was a modular credit hire training programme that forms our Credit Hire Centre of Excellence and a long-term focus to reducing claims inflation.
Ms Mooney, who has more than 15 years’ experience in the credit hire arena, said: “We are delighted that the credit hire team has been recognised at this year’s UK Claims Excellence Awards. Keoghs’ Credit Hire Team is one of the largest dedicated credit hire teams in the country. Five years ago, the numbers of claims received were modest in number and dealt with by less than 10 staff. Today however, they have 80 people dealing with over 20,000 litigated and pre-litigated credit hire claims per year, for a wide range of motor insurance clients, for whom they saved £12m last year.
