Keoghs’ healthcare team has a wealth of experience in the private medical and sports sectors covering a huge range of disciplines.

Offering over 30 years of experience in clinical negligence, and being well-versed in handling complex policy issues on behalf of Primary and Excess layer insurers, the Keoghs team act for insurers and insureds in high value and sensitive claims, class actions and disciplinary matters.

Regularly defending medical practitioners in a variety of disciplinary matters, we have extensive experience of working in front of various professional bodies, including the GMC, GDC, British Acupuncture Council, and General Osteopathic Council. We are also well-practiced in the handling of inquests and judicial review claims, and defending class actions, including product liability claims. We act for a variety of private hospital providers, individual medical and dental practitioners in this area.

With in-depth knowledge in the increasingly niche overlapping area of healthcare sports law, our team has extensive experience in representing numerous professional sporting teams, organisations, in-house medical practitioners, governing bodies, and sportspersons in relation to some of the most high profile and sensitive actions, including representation before the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The Keoghs team capably assist with a wide variety of issues, from the legal liability/vicarious liability arising from player-on-player disputes to pre-transfer medical issues, abuse, policy coverage advice, and inter and intra-club contractual disputes. We are also extensively involved in equine litigation and non-contentious matters, regularly acting for racehorse trainers, owners, and jockeys.
