Limitation, large losses and the latest in marine
The Admiralty Judge has handed down judgment in the matter of "Holyhead Marina Ltd v Mr Peter Farrer & Others" which has the potential to impact on vessel owners’ and their insurers’ ability to recover losses against marinas in cases of large losses. Partner Daniel Crockford, who is involved with the case, examines the decisions that have been made. The claim relates to the destruction of the pontoon system at Holyhead Marina in March 2018 during Storm Emma in which 89 boats were damaged – most beyond practical and/or economic repair.
