Fiona has worked in defendant litigation for over 20 years and has worked with a range of corporates, insurers and brokers in the construction, supply, manufacturing and logistic sectors covering casualty and motor claims (including defending claims against the MIB), large loss and technical claims, aviation claims, professional indemnity claims, property damage and recoveries.

Fiona is highly experienced in handling casualty claims ranging from fast track through to complex injury claims involving CRPS, fibromyalgia, PTSD and amputees and high-value property damage claims caused by subsidence, flooding (failed water/heating systems and environmental), oil spillages and fire. She regularly acts in multi-party construction claims, pursues recovery claims and advises clients on policy indemnity issues.

Notable cases include successfully defending a multi-party action following a chemical spill, securing a full indemnity from a subcontractor following a water leak in a residential block which caused extensive damage to numerous apartments, and negotiating a significantly reduced settlement for a CRPS claim on the basis of causation and Intel findings.

At Keoghs, Fiona is the technical lead for the construction sector. She currently works with a number of construction clients and is heavily involved in ensuring the day-to-day management of their claims from inception through to resolution and both pre-litigated and litigated claims, providing ad hoc support, advice and guidance, and attending regular meetings and claims reviews with clients, brokers and insurers. Fiona is focused on ensuring the best possible outcomes for her clients to drive down indemnity spend and protect their interests, brand and reputation.
