David is head of the leisure and hospitality practice within the corporate and sector risks practice. Admitted as a solicitor in 1987 and joined Keoghs recently in 2018. David is a senior liability lawyer with over 30 years’ experience of major employers liability and public liability claims, including many often quoted cases within textbooks. David has also recently led a leisure client’s defence of a large illness outbreak, resulting in a 219 claimant class action, which was the first UK land-based large class action successfully defended, resulting in multi-million pound savings for the client.

David has successfully defended many oft quoted Court of Appeal cases in the leisure and hospitality sector with regard to duties under the Occupier’s Liability Act, notably Laverton v Kiapasha, Marsden v Bourne Leisure, Tedstone v Bourne Leisure and Gallagher v Haven Leisure.
