Duncan is a partner in the Property Risks and Coverage team at Keoghs where he leads a client-focused team handling subrogated recovery claims. His responsibilities encompass overseeing all aspects of the team’s work, including client relationships, managing financial performance, technical supervision and his colleagues’ development.
Duncan has more than 15 years’ experience of insurance claims litigation delivering high-quality legal services to a diverse range of clients. These clients have ranged from self-insured corporates to large general insurers, handling both volume and high value subrogated recoveries, alongside liability claims and coverage advice.
Notable work includes successfully negotiating a favourable seven-figure settlement during a four-day mediation, representing multiple insurers and their 20 insured claimants following a significant flood. Duncan has also handled multiple recoveries related to product recalls, involving various household-name white goods manufacturers.
His involvement in reported cases includes Smith & Others v South Eastern Power Networks Plc [2012] EWHC 2541 (TCC), Hall v Environment Agency [2017] EWHC 1309 (TCC) and Clapham v Peacock (t/a Allflames) [2018] EWHC 518 (TCC).
