Luke joined Keoghs in 2013 and made Partner in 2025.
Luke is an insurance specialist whose experience covers the full range of large and complex property damage cases, to include policy coverage (PL, CAR and other All Risks policies), liability and subrogated recovery work across construction, property and product liability lines (resulting in damage). Luke’s sub-specialism is in fire/fire spread and BSA related claims.
Luke acts for many of the UK’s leading property insurers and, over recent times, has been involved in some of the highest profile and complex litigation within the property damage insurance market. Luke leads a team of Assistant Lawyers, regularly delivers bespoke training to clients, and writes articles for the Construction Special Interest Group.
Recent case highlights:
- Acted for a major building insurer and housing association provider following a fire at an apartment block. This was a combined recovery of significant value in relation to fire damage and defect rectification of non-fire damaged buildings.
- Acted for a CAR insurer in relation to extensive water ingress issues during a major construction project.
- Acted for the occupier of a restaurant in relation to a serious fire which spread and caused extensive damage to neighbouring properties. Luke defended multiple incoming liability claims and successfully pursued claims for contribution and indemnity against culpable third parties.
- Acted for a liability and contract works insurer in relation to a partial collapse of a domestic property.
- Acted for a major building insurer in relation to a fire spread claim against a Design and Build contractor following a serious fire at an apartment block in London.
- Acted for a liability insurer and manufacturer in relation to a defective batch of white goods giving rise to multiple fires.
