Stuart has joined Keoghs as Partner in the Counter-Fraud team having worked previously for a number of major defendant insurance firms in the fraud arena spanning over 19 years. He deals with all aspects of motor claims and in particular complex indemnity issues and recovery actions from policyholders following successful claims for Tort of Deceit and Conspiracy where exemplary (punitive) damages have been awarded. He has also acted for clients in relation to a number of household claims and private prosecutions for Contempt. Stuart delivers training to clients and works with them in relation to setting relevant procedures and practices in relation to counter-fraud strategy.
Stuart acted for QBE recently in respect of a staged RTA; QBE v Singleton & Allen where exemplary damages of £10,000 were awarded against each of the defendants. A payment plan was put in place with the Defendants repaying £70,000.
