Client Briefing: Isaac Abraham Solicitors in Administration

20/09/2016

On 17 August 2016, the SRA formally closed the practice of Safina Shah, and suspended her Practicing Certificate with immediate effect.

The SRA however, did not close the entire practice of Isaac Abrahams.

The SRA have permitted Taher Shad’s area of the practice to continue. Mr Shad primarily deals with RTA claims and those were being handled at the Oldham office of Isaac Abrahams.

The website of Isaac Abrahams confirms that they formally went into administration on 14 September and states:

“From 14 September 2016 this firm entered into Administration. The Joint Administrators are Andrew Hosking and Sean Bucknall of Quantuma LLP, Vernon House, 23 Sicilian Avenue, London, WC1A 2QS.

Samantha Palmer of Ashfords LLP has been appointed as Solicitor Manager so as to ensure that safe transfer of client monies and client files. Client monies are ring fenced and do not form part of the Administration.

All live Road Traffic Accident client files have been transferred to Inaaya Solicitors.

Inaaya Solicitors - 1 Wright Street, Oldham, OL1 3TF. Tel: 0161 241 1299. Email: info@inaayasolicitors.com “

A search on Companies House of Inaaya Solicitors confirms that the company was incorporated on 7 September 2016 and has only one director, Taher Shad.

The company’s registered address is the same address as Isaac Abraham’s Oldham office; 1 Wright Street, Oldham, OL1 3TF.

Insurers should note that whilst Isaac Abrahams the entity is now in administration, one of the primary individuals behind the firm, Taher Shad is still operating and is doing so under a different guise, Inaaya Solicitors Limited.
