Welcome to the second issue of Credit Hire AWARE - it has been another busy quarter in the credit market; reforms to the small track limit, Competition Commission responses and further glimpses to the future role of the ABS model.
In this quarter’s edition of Credit Hire AWARE we will look to cover each of these points in a little more detail to understand how they have progressed so far, and how they may progress in the coming months.
In addition, we have articles on enforceability of terms and conditions, from Gary Herring of our complex team; and some success stories that have been generated from our credit hire fraud team. These are complimented with an insight into fraud from Niall Maclean, Barrister at 12 Kings Bench Walk. This is the first of what we hope will become a series of frequent and informative ‘guest’ articles. If you would like to contribute an article for this section, please let me know.
Our aim is to continue to develop this publication so it can be of benefit to our clients, and others in the market who have shown a wish to work alongside Keoghs on real credit hire issues.
For our October edition we will look to produce a ‘credit hire tool kit’ for insurance handlers. This will be a practical guide on the understanding of case law, and practical, day to day strategies that will assist your claims department’s file handling.
