Keoghs HR team scoops second award nomination in a week

23/04/2018

Following last week’s HR Excellence Awards nomination, Keoghs HR team is celebrating once more after being shortlisted for a Business in the Community Responsible Business Award.

This time the nomination is for ‘The Unipart Outstanding Employment Award’, which recognises businesses who are helping people to overcome barriers to employment and thrive in good jobs. Keoghs has been recognised for its work involving the long-term unemployed and young people who are not in employment through its Sector Based Work Academy.

The awards champion the most inspiring businesses who are making a difference by taking action to build more inclusive workplaces, stronger communities and tackling our biggest environmental challenges. Keoghs’ nomination is recognition of the firm’s impact in addressing the challenges facing today’s society.

Head of People at Keoghs, Jo Wright commented:

“Keoghs Sector Based Work Academy (SBWA) is a great example of an employer working in the local community alongside other community partners to provide long-term sustainable employment particularly to disadvantaged individuals. Our SBWA recruits have proven the great talent hidden in our community and have had a massive impact on the performance of our business.”

The announcement of nominees coincides with Responsible Business Week (23-27 April), an initiative aimed at increasing awareness of the positive contribution businesses can make to society. With several people from Keoghs in London to take part, don’t forget to follow @keoghslaw for updates.
