Keoghs Sector Based Work Academy wins HR Excellence nomination

18/04/2018

Keoghs is proud to have been shortlisted for Best Youth Employment Strategy at this year’s HR Excellence Awards.

The nomination is recognition of the firm’s impact on local employment, with the awards the longest running, most sought after and highly regarded in the industry.

Keoghs’ Sector Based Work Academy was first launched back in 2016 when, in partnership with Job Centre Plus, Bolton College and Bolton Council, it placed eight local unemployed people into secure full time employment within the firm.

The Academy has since proved to be a great success and has employed a total of 42 people in positions offering a variety of career paths.

Keoghs faced fierce competition to be shortlisted, with the HR Excellence Awards receiving a huge number of entries. The winner will be revealed at a prestigious ceremony in June.

Keoghs Head of People, Jo Wright, was delighted with the nomination, saying;

“This is recognition not only of the success of Keoghs People team and Business Managers who have been working in partnership with our community, Bolton College and the Job Centre, but also the dedication, attitude and talent of those we’ve placed.”
